The Bhaskar Venepalli Distinguished Lecturer Award is given annually to recognize someone from the NC-ACS region, (the nominee doesn't need to be an ACS member) who has made significant and recognized research contributions to the chemical sciences. The Distinguished Lecturer serves as the keynote speaker at the annual NC-ACS Local Section Conference each fall, and is also given a monetary award and plaque.
Eligibility The Distinguished Lecturer must live and/or work within the region represented by NC-ACS. Membership in the American Chemical Society is not required; however, the individual must have made significant and recognized research contributions to the chemical sciences.
To nominate someone for this year's award, please submit by August 15, 2026, a nomination letter, CV, and up to two letters of support to the Chair of the Nominations and Awards Committee, most recent Past Chair, Michael David.
