    • commitment and enthusiasm for science teaching

    • fostering college and career readiness in STEM

    • incorporating literacy in the science classroom

    • innovation in science teaching

    • professionalism and leadership

Award Cycle

Fall (Oct/Nov) and Spring (Mar/Apr), 2 awardees per cycle

Plaque and monetary award, featured in local section newsletter, recognition at a banquet, and eligibility to be nominated for regional/national teaching awards in the ACS.

Who can be nominated?

Any high school science teachers within the 26 counties of the NC-ACS

Who can be nominate a teacher?

Any fellow teacher or administrator. Nominations can be made here. It takes 5 minutes.

Deadline for Nominations in the Fall 2021 cycle: June 30, 2021
